Glove dipping machines are high-tech systems designed for large-scale glove production. They use materials such as latex, nitrile, and vinyl, dipping formers into a liquid that dries to form the gloves. The process involves several key steps:
- Preparation: Before dipping begins, formers or molds are meticulously prepared. Typically made from materials like ceramic or aluminium, these formers define the glove’s size and shape.
- Dipping: The prepared formers are mounted on a conveyor system or carrier, which transports them through various stations. The formers are then submerged in a tank filled with the liquid glove material. The duration and speed of the dipping process control the thickness of the glove layer.
- Vulcanization or Curing: After dipping, the formers move to the curing station. Here, the gloves undergo vulcanization, a process involving heat and chemical agents to solidify and strengthen the material. This crucial step ensures the gloves are durable and resistant to tearing.
- Stripping: Once fully cured, the gloves are carefully removed from the formers. The formers are then cleaned and readied for the next production cycle.
- Quality Control and Packaging: The finished gloves undergo rigorous quality control inspections to ensure they meet industry standards. Defective gloves are discarded, while those passing inspection proceed to packaging.
